Footballer\u00a0\u00a0Nikola Pokrivac<\/strong>\u00a0, a former member of the Croatian national team and former player for Dinamo, has died unexpectedly at the age of 39 in a serious traffic accident, Croatian media reported Saturday.<\/p>\n

According to police sources, Pokrivac and another person died Friday night in a crash involving four vehicles near Karlovac, about 50 kilometers south of Zagreb, while three other people were injured.<\/p>\n

Police have opened an investigation to determine the cause of the accident, according to the sports website Sportske Novosti.<\/p>\n

After starting his football career at Varteks in 2004, Pokrivac played for various clubs, including Dinamo Zagreb, Monaco, Red Bull Salzburg, and Rijeka, and appeared in 15 matches for the Croatian national team.<\/p>\n
