My nephew has a better haircut than I do and he\u2019s seven. I don\u2019t know when kids started getting actual\u00a0haircuts\u00a0instead of whatever was happening in the 80s and 90s, but something shifted, and now they just look cool without trying. I look back at my own childhood photos and there\u2019s a specific kind of regret that sets in, not embarrassment exactly, more like confusion.<\/p>\n

My parents looked at that hair and said yes, that\u2019s the one. At the time it made complete sense because everyone looked like that. The mall looked like that. Television looked like that. It was just what hair was back then. Like these\u00a0nostalgic haircuts\u00a0from the 80s and 90s.<\/p>\n

1. My mom loved to get professional photos taken of my siblings and me when we were kids. I hated it.<\/h2>\n
