Kate Winslet is said to have been left with \u2018lots of bruises\u2019 following an X-rated scene with a co-star.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The actress starred alongside Hollywood actor Patrick Wilson in a 2006\u00a0film<\/a>\u00a0that follows an unhappy housewife (Winslet) who has an affair with a married neighbor (Wilson) while living in suburban Boston.<\/p>\n

Although the film was not a box office success, it received praise from critics and\u00a0Oscar<\/a>\u00a0nominations, including Best Actress for Winslet.<\/p>\n

Many who\u2019ve seen the movie will remember one particularly raunchy scene between the actress and her co-star, which is said to have left Winslet with \u2018lots of bruises.\u2019<\/p>\n

The infamous scene was shot long before the days of intimacy coordinators \u2013 professionals who assist actors in performing intimate scenes safely and comfortably.<\/p>\n

It featured Winslet and Wilson in the nude, although they wore modesty coverings out of view.<\/p>\n

When appearing on The Hollywood Reporter\u2019s\u00a0It Happened in Hollywood<\/a><\/em>\u00a0podcast, Wilson revealed that he would receive looks from moms after filming the racy scene.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would be at the playground, basically being Brad. I remember a few times getting looks from women that are like, \u2018Why do I know you?\u2019 And then you\u2019d see them get all flustered like, \u2018Oh \u2013 that\u2019s why I remember him,’\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd it got to a point where where I could just say, \u2018Are you thinking about the laundry room scene right now?’\u201d<\/p>\n

The laundry room scene shows Winslet and Wilson\u2019s characters finally succumbing to their attraction for one another and having vigorous s**.<\/p>\n

\u201c[Kate] was so cool and gracious and just a gamer \u2013 just like, \u2018Let\u2019s go for it,’\u201d Wilson recalled.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere was never one awkward or weird moment. Never one. I loved it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Addressing rumors that Winslet bruised her backside during this sequence, Wilson said: \u201cI\u2019m sure there were lots of bruises.<\/p>\n

\u201cPut it this way: I haven\u2019t done a scene like that since post-#MeToo and intimacy coordinators.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cI do feel a little bit like a dinosaur when it comes to [having appeared in] those kind of love scenes.\u201d<\/p>\n

At the time of\u00a0Little Children<\/em>\u2018s release, Winslet said: \u201cWe rehearsed the scene fully clothed, without anyone in the room; just us and Todd, and we just got a general shape of the scene so we knew what to expect.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe did look out for each other, and we laughed a hell of a lot. It sounds ridiculous, but at a certain point, you forget that you\u2019re naked with a relative stranger.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added: \u201cMy hips and backside really hurt the next day.\u201d<\/p>\n

In recent years, Winslet has shared her praise for intimacy coordinators and admitted she\u2019d wish they were there \u2018every single time I had to do a love scene or be partially naked or even a kissing scene.\u2019<\/p>\n

Chatting with\u00a0The New York Times Magazine<\/a>, the\u00a0Titanic<\/em>\u00a0star explained: \u201cI would have benefited from an\u00a0intimacy coordinator\u00a0every single time I had to do a love scene or be partially naked or even a kissing scene.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt would have been nice to have had someone in my corner because I always had to stand up for myself.\u201d<\/p>\n

Winslet acknowledged that there had been occasions in her career where she\u2019d wanted to take a stand but felt unable to.<\/p>\n

She gave the example: \u201cI don\u2019t like that camera angle. I don\u2019t want to stand here full-frontal nude. I don\u2019t want this many people in the room. I want my dressing gown to be closer.\u201d<\/p>\n

The actress said she feared being labelled as difficult to work with, adding: \u201cWhen you\u2019re young, you\u2019re so afraid of p***ing people off or coming across as rude or pathetic because you might need those things.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, learning to have a voice for oneself in those environments was very, very hard.\u201d<\/p>\n
