Investigators were seen removing a manhole cover from a septic tank behind\u00a0Nancy Guth<\/strong>rie<\/strong>\u2018s Arizona home more than one week after she went missing.<\/p>\n Drone footage featured on\u00a0Fox News\u00a0on Sunday, February 8, revealed authorities standing in the back yard of Nancy\u2019s residence around 11 a.m. and using a pole to probe inside the tank. It is unclear what they were looking for or why they decided to conduct the search at this time.<\/p>\n As\u00a0Us Weekly<\/em>\u00a0previously reported, Nancy, 84 \u2014 the mother of\u00a0Today<\/em>\u00a0show anchor\u00a0Savannah Guthrie<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 was last seen on January 31 following a visit with her other daughter,\u00a0Annie Guthrie<\/strong>. After they finished having dinner together, Annie\u2019s husband,\u00a0Tomasso Cioni<\/strong>, allegedly drove Nancy to her own home in Catalina Foothills where he dropped her off at approximately 9:48 p.m. She was reported missing the next day after she didn\u2019t show up for church.<\/p>\n On February 2, Pima County Sheriff\u00a0Chris Nanos<\/strong>\u00a0exclusively told\u00a0Us<\/em>\u00a0\u201csomething unusual occurred\u201d at her home that night and that they believed she had been \u201ctaken\u201d by someone after she fell asleep.<\/p>\n \u201cI get briefed on a daily basis, sometimes multiple times, of different search-and-rescue operations. And rarely do we ever, ever call out homicide,\u201d Nanos said at the time. \u201cBut this one came across with some information that was concerning to me, that I just thought, \u2018We need to do this from two angles.\u2019 I need to do the search-and-rescue team [and] do their mission. But I need to bring in my homicide team because there\u2019s something that\u2019s not right here. And I need them to start their criminal side of the investigation, and we\u2019ll get together.\u201d<\/p>\n Since her disappearance, both local and federal law enforcement have embarked on a desperate search for the 84-year-old with few clues as to who could have taken her or why. While an alleged\u00a0ransom letter was sent\u00a0to several media outlets demanding $6 million in bitcoin be paid for Nancy\u2019s safe return by Monday, February 9, it has not yet been confirmed if the note is legitimate.<\/p>\n On Saturday night, February 7, Nancy\u2019s three children \u2014\u00a0Camron<\/strong>, Savannah and Annie \u2014 posted a\u00a0tearful Instagram video\u00a0expressing their willingness to work with the alleged kidnapper or kidnappers to get their mother home.<\/p>\n \u201cWe received your message and we understand. We beg you now to return our mother to us so that we can celebrate with her,\u201d Savannah said in the video while holding both of her siblings\u2019 hands. \u201cThis is the only way we will have peace. This is very valuable to us and we will pay.\u201d<\/p>\n However, as of the time of this publication, there have been no major breaks in the case.<\/p>\n \u201cFollow-up continues at multiple locations. No suspects, persons of interest, or vehicles have been identified,\u201d an\u00a0X\u00a0post from the Pima County Sheriff\u2019s Office read. \u201cNo scheduled press briefings.
