Young woman dies after Friday night shooting in Columbus

An 18-year-old woman has died following a Friday night shooting in Columbus.

According to police, officers responded to a shooting in the 1000 block of Bay Avenue around 11 p.m. Friday. There, police said Kalieah Davis was found suffering from a gunshot wound.

Muscogee County coroner Buddy Bryan reported that Davis was shot in the head while sitting in a vehicle with at least two other people. She was taken to Piedmont Columbus Regional, where she later died.

Authorities have yet to disclose further details, including whether a suspect has been identified or any arrests have been made.
