Missing 4-year-old boy found dead inside hot car, authorities say
CANDLER Co., Ga. (WTOC/Gray News) – A missing 4-year-old boy in Georgia was found dead inside a hot car, according to authorities.
The Candler County Sheriff’s Office, along with Metter police, were called for a report of a missing child at Summer Trace Apartments.
After searching the area, Kameron Williams was found dead inside a hot car in the parking lot.

Amber Rollins, the director of Kids and Car Safety organization, says that an average of 40 children die in a hot car each year nationwide and that around 55% of them enter the car alone.
She says, “children who get into cars on their own are typically about 18 months to 4- or 5-years-old. About 68% of those children who get in on their own and can’t get back out are little boys. So, this situation meets the typical profile for that type of situation.”
Although no foul play is suspected, the case remains open and under investigation at this time.
The child’s body has been taken to the GBI Crime Lab in Pooler for an autopsy, according to officials.
